# Nine CRPF men were killed after Maoists blasted their mine-protected vehicle in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. The casualties raised questions of a “tactical error” as troopers were attacked in less than four hours.
# Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi interacted with the Collectors of the four States of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, and Jammu and Kashmir. He reviewed the progress towards ODF (Open Defecation Free) targets in each of these States.
# Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi addressed the inaugural session of the “END TB” summit in New Delhi. The Prime Minister announced that India has set a target for complete elimination of TB by 2025, as against the global target date of 2030.
# Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), an autonomous body under the Ministry of AYUSH has undertaken development of a coded drug AYUSH QOL-2C for improving the quality of life in cancer patients
- The clinical studies were conducted at St. John’s Medical College, Bengaluru and AIIMS, New Delhi in breast cancer patients and at Bhagwan Mahaveer Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, Jaipur in lung cancer patients. It is not possible to compare the expenditure on research on cancer in Ayurveda viz-à-viz Allopathy as it depends upon variables like methodology, parameters etc. adopted for research.

# India’s largest power generator NTPC Ltd. has commissioned 3rd unit of the 800 MW Kudgi Super Thermal Power Station (Karnataka) With this, the total capacity of Kudgi Super Thermal Power Station has gone up to 2400 MW.
- With this commissioning, the capacity of NTPC and NTPC group stands at 45300 MW and 52191 MW respectively.
- NTPC has 20 coal based, 7 gas based, 11 solar PV, two Hydro, one wind and 8 Subsidiaries / Joint Venture power stations. The company is currently building an additional capacity of over 20,000 MW at multiple locations in the country.
# Supreme Court indefinitely extended the deadline for linking Aadhaar with mobile phones, tatkal passports and for opening bank accounts from March 31, 2018 till the Constitutional Bench led by CJI Dipak Misra pronounced its final verdict on the validity of the Aadhaar scheme
# Supreme Court ruled that foreign law firms or foreign lawyers cannot practice law in the country either on the litigation or non-litigation side; Overseas lawyers or firms cannot open offices in the country
