TROPEX
Ø  The Indian Navy concluded its annual Theatre Level Readiness and Operational Exercise (TROPEX).
Surya Kiran
Ø  The Eighth India-Nepal Battalion level Combined Military Training named Exercise Surya Kiran-VIII, commenced at Integrated Army Training Centre, Saljhandi, Nepal
 Prithvi II
Ø  India successfully test-fired nuclear weapons capable, surface-to-surface Prithvi-II missile from Chandipur-on-sea in Balasore district, Odisha
Ø  The missile was tested for a shortened range of 250 km as against its full range of 350 km. Launched
 INSV Mhadei
Ø  Indian Navy Sailing Vessel Mhadei has sailed 1,00,000 nautical miles, a major feat for a sail boat used for adventure and training.
Ø  Special ceremony was held in Goa to celebrate this
Ø  Earlier, Commander Dilip Donde became the first Indian to accomplish a solo circumnavigation around the globe in a sail boat.
Ø  He set sail from Mumbai on August 19, 2009 and returned on May 19, 2010 with four halts.
Ø  Later, in April 2013, Lt. Commander Abhilash Tomy completed the first unassisted, non-stop, solo circumnavigation by an Indian in a sail boat.
 BrahMos
Ø  India successfully test-fired a BrahMos supersonic cruise missile from Indian Navy's latest destroyer INS Kolkata.
Ø  The launch off the Goa coast was flawless as the missile met all its designed parameters.  
Ø  BrahMos is a missile with a range of 290 kilometers and can carry a conventional warhead of up to 300 kilograms.
Ø  It has a top speed of Mach 2.8, which is three times faster than the US subsonic Tomahawk cruise missile
 Agni V
Ø  India successfully test-fired indigenously developed canister-based inter-continental ballistic missile (ICBM) Agni-5 from Wheeler's Island off Odisha coast.
Ø  Agni-5 is a surface-to-surface nuclear capable missile.
Ø  Agni-5 missile is a three stage solid propellant missile with strike range of over 5000 kilometer and capable of carrying nuclear warhead of over one tonne.
Ø  It is about 17 meters long, 2 meters wide and has a launch weight of around 50 tonnes.

Astra
Ø  Indigenously developed Beyond Visual Range (BVR) air-to-air missile, Astra, was successfully test fired
Ø  Form the Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur in Odisha
Ø  It was test-fired aboard a Sukhoi-30 fighter aircraft. The present test was a part of the series of tests planned to test the missile’s subsystems like propulsion, navigation and guidance and the smooth separation of the missile from the aircraft, etc. 

Ø  Astra is India’s first BVR air-to-air missile. The all-weather missile was indigenously designed and developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
