# Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi chaired the fourth meeting of the Governing Council of NITI Aayog at Rashtrapati Bhawan on June 17, 2018. The day-long meeting was attended by Union Ministers, Chief Ministers from the States, Lieutenant Governors of Union Territories and senior officials from the Government of India.
# Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi interacted with the beneficiaries of various Digital India Mission schemes from across the country, through video bridge. The video bridge connected over 50 lakh beneficiaries, including those from Common Service Centres, NIC centres, National Knowledge Network, BPOs, Mobile Manufacturing Units and MyGov volunteers. This is the sixth interaction in the series by the Prime Minister through video bridge with various beneficiaries of Government schemes.

# UK government recently decided to exclude Indian students from a new lis rof “low risk” countries to facilitate easier visa application
·        Thus, Indian students applying for Tier 4 visas will continue to face rigorous checks and documentary requirements
·        This will add to growing concern in India government circles, given that ministers and diplomats have repeatedly highlighted the need for a more welcoming immigration regime for Indian students
# National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, government of India will partner with Singapore e-Government Leadership Centre (eGL) at the National University of Singapore’s Institute of Systems Science (NUS-ISS) for implementation of skill development initiatives of India.

# UK: McDonald’s said that it will switch to paper straws at all its locations in UK and Ireland and test an alternative to plastic ones in some of its U. S. restaurants later this year. It is facing pressure from environmental activists to stop using plastic straws that end up as non – biodegradable waste

# India’s imports of Iranian oil may be hit from the end of August after the SBI informed refiners it would not handle payments for the crude from Nov 2018
