COVID – 19 IN INDIA
Number of persons affected with COVID -19 in India increased to 34. More people opted for masks in New Delhi over COVD – 19 fears.

ECI UNVEILS REVAMP PROCEDURES
The Election Commission of India (ECI) is considering new voting methods, capping the campaign expenditure of political parties, online registration of new voters at 17 years and ending social media campaigning 48 hours before polling among the recommendations proposed by working groups it set up in June 2019. The EXI published 25 of the main recommendations and invited comments or suggestions from the public.

KHELO INDIA WOMEN’S HOCKEY LEAGUE U – 21
Sports Authority of India (SAI), in association with Hockey India announced the 1st edition of the Khelo India Women’s Hockey League Under-21. The tournament will be organized by Hockey India at 3 phases in 3 different venues (Delhi, Bengaluru and Bhubaneswar) between March to November 2020.

DELIMITATION COMMISSION
The government has constituted a Delimitation Commission, to be headed by former Supreme Court judge Ranjana Prakash Desai, to redraw Lok Sabha and assembly constituencies of the Union Territory Jammu and Kashmir and the North Estern states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Nagaland. The Commission will delimit the constituencies of Jammu and Kashmir in accordance with the provisions of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, and of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Nagaland in accordance with the provisions of the Delimitation Act, 2002.

MAYILADUTHURAI TO BE NEW DT?
Chief Minister, Mr. Edappadi K. Palanswami said that the government is considering the proposal to carve out a new district out of Nagapattinam with Mayiladuthirai as headquarters.

DAY – NULM & AMAZON
Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana- National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY- NULM) functions under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs(MoHUA) signed MoU (Memorandum of Understandings) with Amazon for electronic marketing (e-Marketing) of products made by Self Help Groups (SHGs) across the Country.

CHANDRAYAAN – 3
A possible schedule for the launch of Chandrayaan-3 is planned to be implemented in the first half of 2021. The preparation of Chandrayaan-3 has been done by taking lessons from the previously launched Chandrayaan-2, a Moon mission which was launched in 2019, in which the Indian Space and Research Organisation (ISRO)’s Vikram Lander lost contact following a hard landing on the Moon’s surface.

INDIAN OCEAN COMMISSION
India was recently accepted as an observer in the Indian Ocean Commission, getting a seat at the table of the organization that handles maritime governance in the western Indian Ocean. India’s entry is a consequence of its deepening strategic partnership with France as well as its expanding ties with the Vanilla Islands.
It is an intergovernmental organization created in 1982. The Commission has a Secretariat which is located in Mauritius and headed by a Secretary General. Indian Ocean Commission was institutionalized in 1984 by the Victoria Agreement in Seychelles. It is composed of five African Indian Ocean nations: Comoros, Madagascar, Mauritius, Réunion (an overseas region of France), and Seychelles.
