Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi Inaugurated 10th Civil Services Day and expressed his thoughts on civil servants that they are not only doing a job but also a service to the Nation and he added that at energy level, to be an agent of change. Prime Minister accolades the Initiatives of Jan Bhagidari (Public Participation) and engagement with civil society

About Jan Bhagidari:
It is an initiative of the government of the state of Delhi in India to promote broad-based civic participation in local governance.



Points delivered by Prime Minister
Ø Civil servants need to redefine their nation’s role
Ø Move beyond controlling, regulating and managerial capabilities
Ø Think of themselves as change agents
Ø Advised civil servants to work as single team
Ø He said that, his mantra of “Reform to Transform”, should be interpreted by civil servants as “Reform to Perform to Transform.”
Ø He said if civil servants were able to perform, the transformation on the ground would be evident.
Ø To engage with the people so that Schemes and initiatives made by the government to be implemented at better level on the field
Ø Energy of 125 crore Indians will take the nation ahead towards progress
Ø He shortlisted 74 success stories for awards this years and urged all districts to be proactive in this regards where only about 10% of Districts represents

Prime Minister also confered awards to civil servants on 10th Civil Services Day. Prime Minister accorded awards to Civil Servants for Excel in Implementation of Programmes and Schemes made by Government.

1)   Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna – Opening Zero Balance Accounts
2)   Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) – Clean India Programme
3)   Swachh Vidyalaya – ‘Clean India: Clean Schools’
4)   Soil Health Card Scheme – To Farmers for health or quality of a soil
* First time a new category of Excellence in implementing a Priority Programme has been awarded
