(13) The sum of four consecutive even numbers A, B, C and D is 180. What is the sum of the set of next four consecutive even numbers?
212
Exp:
Let the numbers be: A = a; B = a+2; C = a+4; D=a+6
So A+B+C+D = a+a+2+a+4+a+6= 180
4a+12 = 180
4a = 168
So, a = 42
The next four “Consecutive even” numbers must be:

Average of a1, a2, a3, a4, a5, a6, a7 and a8 is A
So, a1 + a2 + a3 + a4 + a5 + a6 + a7 + a8 = 8A à (1)
Average of four (a1, a2, a3 and a4) of these is B
So, a1 + a2 + a3 + a4 = 4B à (2)
Average of remaining four (a5, a6, a7 and a8) is C
So, a5 + a6 + a7 + a8 = 4C à (3)
Put the values of (2) and (3) in (1)
4B + 4C = 8A
4(B+C) = 8A
So, (B+C) = 2A
