INDIA
·        MoS for AYUSH, Mr. Shripad Yesso Naik launched the pilot project ‘Integration of Homoeopathy/Yoga with National Programme for Prevention and Control of Cancer, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Diseases & Stroke (NPCDCS) in Krishna District’ at Gudivada near Amaravathi, Andhra Pradesh.

·        In a bid to match pace with latest technological innovations, Indian Railway Project Management Unit (IRPMU), an arm of North Central Railway in association with the Construction and Open Line Units of the Railway, initiated a computer-based signalling system at Khurja junction, a city famous for pottery in Uttar Pradesh.
·        As per the sources of Urban Ministry, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal to invest Rs. 150 crores in solid waste management [Solid waste management is a project under the Swachh Bharat mission. It has been found that the Indian cities generate about 170 million tonnes of solid waste every year.]

TAMIL NADU
·        Federation of Indian Granites and Stone Industry (FIGSI) will be setting up 4-in-1 centre near Hosur to double export of natural stones.
·        Centre Government announced setting up of a 100 beded ESIC Hospital in Sriperumbudur and upgradation of 7 ESIC Dispensaries at Dindigul, Ranipet, Ambur, Tambaram, Kovilpatti, Rajapalayam, Virudhanagar into 30 bedded ESIC Hospitals.
·        Once again, Tamil Nadu faces a sharp increase in its revenue deficit. The interim budget for 2016-17 presented by Finance Minister Mr. O. Panneerselvam showed that the State’s revenue expenditure will fall short of its receipts by a whopping Rs. 9,154.78 crore
·        Finance Minister, Mr. O. Panneerselvam said that, the huge revenue deficit is unavoidable due to falling state's own tax revenue especially the sales tax revenue from petroleum products
·        Government is optimistic of achieving 9.13% growth in 2016-17: Finance Minister, Mr. O. Panneerselvam
