No party got the absolute majority
·
BJP is the single largest party followed by INC and JD (S)
·
Both BJP and JD (S) [with the support of INC] called on Governor
to form the government
·
72.36% of votes polled in Assembly Elections; out of a total 223
constituencies, 221 constituencies goes to poll [1 constituency poll deferred
due to death of candidate and another one deferred to May 28 as the EC found
more number of EPIC in an apartment]
·
This was the highest ever voter turnout in the Assembly
elections, ahead of the 71.95 in 1978 and 71.32% in 2013
·
However the low voter turnout in the 28 Assembly Constituencies
in Bengaluru city has caused concern in the Election Commission; Bengaluru city
witnessed just 48% - 50% of votes
