[CA] Foodgrain production in Tamil Nadu



The foodgrain production in the State of Tamil Nadu during 2017-18 registered 110 lakh tones
·       Since 2011 -12, the foodgrain production in the State touches 100 lakh tones except 2012-13 and 2016-17, when the state was in grip of acute drought
·       In recent years, a discernible pattern in the foodgrain production of the State has been the increasing share of millets in the total production; 10 years ago, millets accounted for not more than 25% but they constitute at least 33%
