Digital India
·        Launched on: July 01
·       Launched at: New Delhi
·        Launched by: Mr. Narendra Modi
·        Aim: encouraging people’s involvement and creating awareness among them about various initiatives launched under the Digital India Programme launched in August 2014.
·        The Department of Electronics & Information Technology (DeitY) is the nodal agency for implementing the Digital India Programme 
·        Software major Microsoft agreed to develop Smart MIDC (industrial colony) and support Digital Village in Maharashtra (Microsoft has adopted Melghat village and agreed to set up a cyber-security centre at Pune)
·        Nine pillars of Digital India
·        The vision of Digital India is keyed on three key areas –
v Digital Infrastructure as a Utility to Every Citizen
v Governance & Services on Demand
v Digital Empowerment of Citizens
·        Brand Ambassadors: Krati Tiwari, Satwat Jagawni, Pranav Mistry and Ankit Fadia


Skill India Vision
·        Launched on: July 15
·        Launched at: New Delhi
·        Launched by: Mr. Narendra Modi
·        Aim: to create India as hub of skilled labourers
·        Launched four initiatives –
v National Policy for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship 2015
v National Skill Development Mission (NSDM)
v Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) and
v Skill Loan scheme


Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti (DDUGJY)
·        Launched on: July 21
·        Launched at: Patna, Bihar
·        Launched by: Mr. Narendra Modi 
·        Aim: to provide electrification to all villages
·        The scheme will replace the existing Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY)

Surakshit Khadya Abhiyan
·        Launched on: July 21
·        Launched at: New Delhi
·        Aim: to create countrywide awareness on “Food safety and Quality for all”
·        Campaign under the brand name Jago Grahak Jago

·        Launched by: Union Finance Minister and Union Urban Development Minister
·        Aim: to preserve and rejuvenate the rich cultural heritage of the country in the selected 12 cities across the country
·        In the initial phase of HRIDAY, 12 heritage cities have been identified which will be rejuvenated and developed
·        Union Government will provide 500 crore rupees to these 12 cities
·        It will be completely funded by the Union Government to create infrastructure and provide facilities around the heritage sites to attract more tourists

Rashtruya Avishankar Abhiyan (RAA)
·        Launched on: July 2015
·        Launched at: New Delhi
·        Launched by: Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam
·        Aims to inculcate a spirit of inquiry, creativity and love for Science and Mathematics in school children.
·        Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan is a concept developed by the Ministry of Human Resource Development.
·        Under Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan, government schools will be mentored by Institutes like IITs/IIMs/IISERs and other Central Universities and reputed organisations through innovative programmes, student exchanges, demonstrations, student visits, etc to develop a natural sense of passion towards learning of Science and Mathematics
·        RAA is an effort to take forward the Prime Minister Narednra Modi’s vision of ‘Digital India’, ‘Make in India’ and ‘Teach in India’.

Nai Manzil Scheme
·        Launched on: August 08, 2015
·        Launched at: Patna
·        Launched by: Dr. Najma Heptullah (Union Minority Affairs Minster)
·        Will address educational and livelihoods needs of minority communities in general and Muslims in particular as it lags behind other minority communities in terms of educational attainments
·        Scheme will cover people in between 17 to 35 years of age group from all minority communities as well as Madrasa students

Start-up India, Stand up India
·        Launched on: August 15, 2015
·        Launched at: New Delhi
·        Launched by: Mr. Narendra Modi
·        To promote bank financing for start-ups and offer incentives to boost entrepreneurship and job creation
·        Initiative is aimed at encouraging entrepreneurship among the youth of India
·        Each of the 1.25 lakh bank branches should encourage at least one Dalit or tribal entrepreneur and at least one woman entrepreneur

School Nursery Yojana
·        Launched on: August 10, 2015
·        Launched at: New Delhi
·        Launched by: Mr. Prakesh Javadekar (Union Environment Minister)
·        An initiative to bring students closer to nature
·        Class VI to IX students
·        Theme of the yojana is to plant a tree for sustainable future and to make the nation clean and green

SEHAT
·        Launched on: August 25, 2015
·        Launched at: New Delhi
·        Launched by: Mr. Ravi Shankar Prasad (Union IT & Communications Minister)
·        A telemedicine initiative in collaboration with the Apollo Hospitals to provide healthcare facilities in rural areas


SAHAJ
·        Launched on: August 30, 2015
·        Launched at: New Delhi
·        Launched by: Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan (Union Petroleum Minister)
·        For online release of new LPG connections for the consumers

·        At present, the scheme will be available in 13 cities of the country (Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Patna and Pune)

Smart Cities
·        A list of 98 cities in India selected for ‘Smart Cities’ project
·        These cities and towns were nominated by respective States and Union Territories at the end of first stage of ‘City Challenge’ competition in which all the urban local bodies in each State and UT were evaluated based on their financial and institutional capacities and past track record. He gave details of profiles of all the selected cities and towns in terms of population and characters of each city/town.
·        24 cities are capital cities; 24 are business and industrial centres; 18 are of cultural and tourism importance; 5 are port cities and three are educational and healthcare hubs.
·        Uttar Pradesh with 13 Smart Cities leads the table followed by Tamil Nadu with 12 cities and Maharashtra with 10 cities

AMRUT
·        Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT)
·        Union Urban Development Ministry has identified 482 cities, and each will receive Rs. 25 lakh to pinpoint flaws (in the existing service providing mechanisms such as water supply and sewerage) and come up with solutions
·        Uttar Pradesh – 60 cities; West Bengal – 59 cities; Maharashtra – 43 cities

Hamari Dharohar
·        Government's new scheme: “Hamari Dharohar” - to preserve the rich heritage of the Parsi minority community

Swavlamban Health Insurance Scheme
·        Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment
·        Signed an MoU with the New India Assurance Company Limited on providing affordable Health Insurance Scheme “Swavlamban Health Insurance Scheme” for the Persons with Disabilities (PwDs)
·        Providing affordable Health Insurance to persons with blindness, low vision, leprosy-cured, hearing impairment, loco-motor Disability, mental Retardation and mental Illness.
·        To improve the general Health condition & quality of life of persons with disabilities.

Pradhan Mantri Khanji Kshetra Kalyan Yojana
·        Launched on: September 17, 2015
·        Programme is meant for the welfare of areas and people affected by mining related operations, using the funds generated by the District Mineral Foundations (DMFs).
·        DMFs were created under the Mines and Minerals (Development & Regulation) Amendment Act, 2015 in all the districts of the country affected by mining related operations.

Housing For All
·        The Union government has identified 305 cities and towns across nine states for implementation of its ambitious ‘Housing for All’ scheme – houses for the poor in urban areas.
·        The government has set the target to provide houses to two crore families belonging to the economically weaker section (EWS) in urban areas by 2022.
·        Top gains are: Chhattisgarh (36 cities/towns), Gujarat (30 cities/towns) and Jammu and Kashmir (19 cities/towns)
·        Union Government had launched this scheme named as Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) in June 2015 under the aegis of Housing for All Mission (2 crore houses) by 2022 – Coinciding with 75 years of Independence.

OROP
·        One Rank One Pension
·        Union Government announced One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme for ex-servicemen.
·        The scheme was pending for nearly four decades. Though the scheme was announced in February 2014, it was not implemented till date as the modalities of the scheme were not finalized.
