The new branding and visual identity also include an institutional and commercial logo of the Indian Olympic Association. he new logos will mark the contributions of the Indian Athletes from across the country, passionate work of these athletes over the period of last 100 years have today helped in building a Team India under the Indian Olympic Association. In the 1920 Summer Olympics at Belgium’s Antwerp, India sent its first Olympic team. 3 Athletes and 2 Wrestlers represented India in the 1920 Olympic Summer Games.

FAO has said that India should remain on high alert against locust attack for the next four weeks. FAO's statement came at a time, when the country is facing the worst locust attack in 26 years. Spring-bred locust swarms, which migrated to the Indo-Pakistan border and travelled east to northern states, are expected to return back to Rajasthan with the start of the monsoon in coming days. The current locust attack (2019-2020) has been categorised as an upsurge.

The International Boxing Association (AIBA) has released the world rankings 2020 for women’s and men’s boxing, as per which Indian amateur boxer & World championships silver medallist Amit Panghal has been ranked first in the world ranking of main elites of 52 kg weight category with a total of 1300 points. At the same time, Manju Rani has got the second place in women’s rankings in 48 kg with 1175 points.

Retired 1983 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the Odisha Cadre- Injeti Srinivas has been appointed as the 1st Chairman of the International Financial Services Centre Authority (IFSCA). Union Finance Ministry established the IFSCA (headquartered in Gandhinagar) on April 27, 2020. IFSCA will be regulating the financial activities across all the International Financial Services Centres (IFSCs) in the country.  IFSCA will consist of a Chairman, and one member will be nominated by each of the regulators under the IFSCA Act 2019 (SEBI, RBI, IRDAI etc are the regulators). Apart from this, there will also be two members of the Central Government in IFSCA. 

haryana: 75% jobs in private sector for locals

In order to address the growing rate of unemployment in the state on a priority basis, Haryana Government has approved a proposal for drafting an Ordinance under which 75% of the jobs with a salary of less than Rs 50,000 per month will be reserved for the locals of Haryana in the State. In the month of June 2020, Haryana had the highest unemployment rate among all states in the country. The unemployment rate in June 2020 was 33.6%.

In 1932, British Army officer Brigadier William Harry Evans (also a Lepidopterist: a person who studies or collects butterflies and moths) had recorded a Southern Birdwing (Troides minos) butterfly with 190 mm. Since then, for the last 88 years, Southern Birdwing butterfly is considered the largest butterfly in India. Recently, new measurements of a Himalayan butterfly named ‘Golden Birdwing (Troides Aeacus)' had a wingspan of 194 mm that is 4 mm larger than that of the Southern Birdwing with 190 mm wingspan. The female Golden Birdwing with 194 mm wingspan was recorded at Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh district’s Didihat town, while the male Golden Birdwing with 106 mm wingspan was recorded at the Wankhar Butterfly Museum (in Shillong). Thus, "Golden Birdwing" dethroned "Southern Birdwing" as the largest butterfly in India.
