to WHO estimates, nearly 24 crore children in India in the age group of 1-14
years are at risk of intestinal parasitic worm infestation
Ø In
the first phase, about 14 crore children across eleven States/UT of Assam,
Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Haryana, Karnataka, Maharashtra,
Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Tripura will be covered.

per the scheme, the state government will deposit an amount of 21200 rupees in
bank for a girl child born in a Below the Poverty Line (BPL) family.

Bhagyashree scheme aims at providing one lakh rupee on maturity after the girl
completes 18 years of age
Ø Bollywood
actress Bhagyashree is the brand ambassador of the scheme.
Ø The
Bhagyashree scheme would be linked to the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme of
Union Government
